I love everything about Canard. Their food and service are absolute top tier. My mom has very extensive food allergies, so I emailed them in advance to see if they could accommodate her. Well, the chef made a special dish just for her, and she said she couldn’t remember the last time she’d finished her whole plate. It was that good! Plus, they always make my nephew feel the love. I really didn’t think I could like this place more than I already do, but they just completely knocked it out of the park tonight. Huge thanks to the entire team.
Excellent high quality unique menu. We had the pears and goat cheese which was good, but the foie gras dumplings are incredible! Savory, sweet, aromatic, rich flavor. The duck frites and the Gnocci were very unique and also delicious. We will definitely come back.
The server "Suzy" was the bomb! When I told her I wanted to take my time and enjoy the gnocchi, she said they were open till 9. The food was fantastic! From the garlic frys, the entrees, to the dessert. The bartender "John" helped me with a drink I was inventing. Infact he improved it and let me try it for free!
10/10 one of the best restaurants in Portland. Everything we ordered was an incredible mix of flavors and textures. Unique and seasonal ingredients made for an unforgettable experience. While we ordered a lot of food for two people we finished everything and left nothing on the plate. - Brunch Menu - The dumplings have a sauce with a very unique and delicious flavor. They are a bit small so I would recommend a second order since they were amazing! The duck stack had the fluffiest pancakes I’ve ever seen and paired with the duck sauce, caramelizes onion, and duck meat this made for a stand out dish. My husband and I argued over who got the last bit of the cherry burrata (seasonal item) which was not sweet as expected but an explosion of flavors! Dessert was delicious but was not at the same level as all the other dishes. The service was also great, we were seated right away and the staff constantly checked in on us. Very friendly crew too! Shout out to whoever does their flowers, they were beautiful and brightened up the atmosphere! Would love to come back for dinner!
The sliders are cravable. The appetizers were the best part of the night. My short ribs were good. Everything else around it was mid. Went here on a business dinner. Its winter so we sat on their outside patio. Was heated They dont have good temperature control. Only controlled by a switched. So its either hotter than the sun or Antarctica. Other than that food was good.
Went here for our anniversary and it was good! We ordered dishes that weren't duck or rabbit based off other reviews. My only real criticism is the staff wellness fee, but only that it should be part of the price of the dish (because our table neighbors were complaining about it loudly). Overall, it was good, but I am curious to see how the other locations are different.
We had a wonderful evening at Canard in Oregon City and overall really enjoyed the experience. The restaurant has a warm, comfortable atmosphere that feels polished without being pretentious, making it a great place for a relaxed but special night out. The pacing of the meal was excellent and never felt rushed. The clear food highlight of the night was the ricotta gnocchi. It was light, delicate, and perfectly cooked—soft and pillowy without being heavy. The flavors were well balanced, and it stood out as the most memorable dish we had. It’s the kind of plate that reminds you why simple ingredients, when done well, can be exceptional. We also tried the steam burger, which was fine—solid and enjoyable, but it didn’t quite rise to the same level as the gnocchi. My wife ordered the Salisbury steak, which she felt was fair overall. It was decent, but again, the ricotta gnocchi clearly stole the show. For dessert, I had the hazelnut mille-feuille. It was okay on its own, but paired nicely with a cup of coffee and made for a pleasant, relaxed ending to the meal. One of the true highlights of the evening was our server, Suzzie. She was friendly, attentive, and struck the perfect balance between being helpful and giving us space to enjoy the meal. Her service really elevated the overall experience. All in all, we had a very enjoyable dinner and would absolutely return—especially for the pasta dishes. Canard delivers thoughtful food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it worth coming back to.
I had dinner here with my dad to catch up and celebrate my belated birthday. The environment was on the louder side until parties started filtering out towards the end of the night. It didn’t bother us, but it’s something to keep in mind. Garlic fries 10/10 no notes. Crispy broccolini 10/10, LOVED everything about these. Pears and goat cheese 7/10, might be better closer to pear season. Was more salad-aligned than expected. Tokyo hot chicken tenders 7/10, flavors and sauce was tasty, but the chicken to breading ratio left some to be desired. Braised rabbit 10/10 delicious (pictured). The Standard OG cocktail was also great. We were pretty full and decided against ordering dessert, but after mentioning we were celebrating a birthday, they surprised me with a serving of vanilla+pineapple ice cream with sprinkles and a candle (pictured). Overall a pleasant experience. I hope to return and try more of the menu.
Absolutely killer brunch! The soft-boiled eggs swimming in that golden sauce with bacon crumbles and fresh chives were next-level delicious. Loved the cheesy steamed sliders bursting with flavor, plus the steak & eggs plate—perfectly fried egg, tender beef, and those crispy Parmesan potatoes. Portions generous, everything spot-on. Coming back for sure!
Canard is a lovely French American fusion restaurant located in the heart of Oregon City. The food was delicious and atmosphere was very comforting. We were given a complimentary appetizer and our server continuously made great recommendations for flavor combinations. I would definitely recommend if you’re ever in the area.
